Jacquie was known at the office as a very conservative person who had a superb attendance record. She in no way went to any of the happy hours immediately after work and it was recognized through the department that she was a deeply spiritual individual who many times spoke about the dangers of alcohol dependency and alcohol abuse in our United States.

Try to think of the surprise in the department when one Monday morning Jacquie didn't show up for work and not a soul had heard from her. In reality, it wasn't until about 11:00 AM that the human resources department received a phone call regarding Jacquie from the city jail.

Evidently, Jacquie went out drinking together with several of her college house mates Saturday night and sometime close to 5:45 early Sunday morning, Jacquie was arrested for a DUI. Considering that her blood alcohol content level (BAC) was quite high, she was required to spend one day inside the local jail.

When Jacquie arrived at the office on Tuesday morning, she without delay shared with her boss what had happened and she asked if she could go and talk with the Human Resources director about her DUI arrest. The Human Resources director explained to Jacquie that she needs to make an appointment with somebody within the company employee's assistance program to discuss any future drinking issue that she might have. The Human Resources director also articulated that she really needs to explain her need to hire a "driving while intoxicated" attorney to represent her concerning her "driving under the influence" case.

In addition, the Human Resources director explained to Jacquie that it was a good thing that she would like to employ a DUI attorney simply because of the complexities and problematic consequences which are connected to a "driving while intoxicated" conviction. Just before completing their conversation, the Human Resources manager informed Jacquie that it was very heartening that she doesn't seem to have any long term alcohol effects. The Human Resources director stated that this is important because according to some of the most recent alcoholism statistics and facts, the long term effects of alcohol not only impair an individual's health, but that they can also tear down any and all meaningful relationships the alcohol dependent person may have.

Jacquie thanked the Human Resources manager for his practical and encouraging words and then walked over to the organization's employee's assistance program go over her DWI arrest, her participation in careless and abusive drinking drinking over the weekend, and her aspiration to employ a DUI attorney to represent her DWI case. After listening to Jacquie's "story", the nurse from the employee's assistance program went over Jacquie's immediate "game plan" that she needed to understand and follow.

First, she would have to take a DUI class to learn more facts and information about "driving under the influence". And finally, it would be an especially wise thing to do if she were to meet with a DUI Attorney about her "drunk driving" arrest.
