Simply wow..! I was a bit sceptical of buying a tablet for the money this cost, but I am glad I did!I was using the folks Kindle fire, and their Google Nexus tablet, and they were quite good, but I couldn’t get on with them. I find Ice Cream Sandwich a bit clunky these days, multitasking hasn’t really been tackled properly on iOS and Android (or hasn’t been revisited for a fair while). This Surface has come out and tackled my Gras with multitasking, instead of double tapping on a button or being forced to reopen an application from the window to resume, you simply swipe in from the left, it is so intuitive! Also, I never knew how to actually close apps properly on those devices, with this, again it is easy, simply swipe from the t all the way to the bottom, and it is gone. One thing that I didn’t read about before buying, and really was the icing on the cake, was you can have two applications open side by side, so you can have twitter, Facebook, messaging or…

Very impressive machine Very happy with the surface RT. Firstly it feels very solid and well made and looks great as well. I’ve read comments about the finish chipping so might invest in a skin, but I like the look of the raw machine so might just leave it at that.As for use again I am very happy. I’m not a fan of metro on my desktop PC and have installed Classic Shell on Windows 8 to bring back the Start menu but on a tablet the touch and swipe gestures work very well, though they do take a day or so to get used to. Swapping between applications, having two open side by side, closing etc all done very easily. It can’t run ordinary Windows programs but then neither can an iPad or Android tablets. The only programe I’d like would be Firefox or Chrome since IE isn’t as good as it could be. No adblock for one, and swiping right to go back a page takes a few seconds to work, but overall it’s not a real problem. No apps for BBC iPlayer but their website works perfectly. No Youtube app but again you can just…

Best Tablet/PC out there……. I got one of these wonderful little machines about 2 weeks ago now and have been really enjoying this amazing little tablet. Many people seem to criticise Windows RT sayings its rubbish in comparison to Windows 8 Pro. Well lets just put this into perspective shall we. RT is designed to work on the ARM chip set which is why its inherently different to the standard Windows 8 Pro which runs on the Intel chip set. This is why so called “normal” Windows software cannot be run on an RT tablet. Its a bit like saying “why can’t I run Adobe Photoshop on my iPad? People really need to understand this before they go gung-hoe on RT.The other gripe I have with the Windows haters is “Apps”, or the seeming lack of Apps in the MS shop. We all need to start somewhere and Apple and Google have had the head start. Something like 100,000 apps available on the iStore and Google Playstore in comparison to the MS store with a mere 30,000 or so apps at this moment in time. What…
